Permaculture Marin is a local volunteer organization, guided by the permaculture ethics of caring for the earth, caring for people, setting limits to consumption, and sharing resources and surplus.
Each month we gather to practice our permaculture skills by working on a project at the home or site of a Permaculture Marin member. This month's PACE Day will be in collaboration with the Canal Alliance. More details to come soon!
Natural Dye Workshop with Rebecca Burgess
Saturday, March 6th • Point Reyes Station • 10am - 3:30pm
Take a day to learn natural dye processes, and get inspired for how to incorporate dye plants into your summer garden planning. You’ll have the skills to create a season’s worth of textile color! We will cover both horticultural varieties, as well as California native perennials and several invasive species to make a feast of jaw-dropping colors. Participants will learn the art and ethical practice of harvesting. We will explore the general patterns of local land-use history and its effects on our relationships with these plants. We will also explore a new native mordant (explored and discovered as of 2010).
The class will take place at a lush permaculture site in Point Reyes Station, also the home of Permaculture Marin members Lauren, Dave and Molly. Please bring something to share for the potluck lunch.
Cost: $75; $60 for Permaculture Marin members. All fibers and materials provided. Limited to 19 participants. To register, or for more information, email dustin@permaculturemarin.org

SPAWN and MMWD team up for 10,000 rain gardens project!
The 10,000 Rain Gardens Project is a community-based program designed to provide FREE rainwater harvesting resources (technical, design assistance) to residents and businesses that are MMWD customers.
Beginning in February 2010, SPAWN will be available to provide site consultations and technical assistance for landowners wanting to implement rainwater harvesting projects.
Since they are able to provide only a limited number of design consultations in 2010, they have prepared a survey to help them serve as many MMMWD customers as possible. If you would like to be eligible for a design consultation with one of SPAWN's rainwater harvesting experts, please click here for more information and to fill out a quick survey.
